Nom Wah Tea Parlor

$89.99

Ed and May Choy opened Nom Wah Tea Parlor at 15 Doyers Street in Chinatown in 1920, making it one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the neighborhood. Their nephew Wally Tang joined at 16 in 1950, bought the business in 1976, and moved it to its current address at 13 Doyers Street in 1968; his nephew Wilson Tang now runs it, having modernized the kitchen in 2010 while keeping the dim sum menu and old-school tea-parlor atmosphere intact. More than a century into its run, it remains one of the clearest through-lines to old Chinatown left in the neighborhood.
