Jody Williams opened Buvette on Grove Street in the West Village in 2011, calling it a "gastrotheque", a small, all-day spot for eating and drinking well from morning coffee through late-night wine. The French-Italian menu of tartines, terrines, and shared plates turned the tiny room into one of the neighborhood's most reliably packed spots, and the concept has since expanded abroad. It sits alongside Williams and partner Rita Sodi's other West Village restaurants, including Via Carota and I Sodi, as part of one of the city's most tightly clustered restaurant groups.
