Banc Cafe
$69.99
Banc Cafe took its name from the 1920s-era bank building it now occupies on Third Avenue at 30th Street, an Irish-owned bar and restaurant that turned the original vault into a stone-walled back bar. It draws a heavy post-work happy hour crowd that carries the space into a nightclub-like scene after 10pm, serving American comfort food alongside parmesan truffle fries and jalapeno margaritas. The wood-fenced outdoor seating, dotted with olive oil bottles on every table, gives it a slightly incongruous Mediterranean touch for a restaurant built inside a bank vault.
