The Four Horsemen opened on Grand Street in Williamsburg in 2015, a natural wine bar founded by LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy alongside wine consultant Justin Chearno, after the two had talked through the idea for years. Chef Nick Curtola's kitchen serves a frequently changing menu of New American small plates designed to work alongside an unusually deep and unconventional wine list. It earned a Michelin star in 2019, a two-star New York Times review the same year, and a James Beard award for its wine program in 2022. Rare for a restaurant with a rock-star founder, it's built its reputation almost entirely on the wine and food rather than the association.
