San Sabino opened in the West Village in 2023 as the second restaurant from husband-and-wife chefs Angie Rito and Scott Tacinelli, following their acclaimed debut at Don Angie just a few doors down. The Italian-American seafood menu takes cues from the coastal cities where Italian immigrants settled, from the Jersey Shore to New Orleans, turning out playful dishes like shrimp parm and pasta alle vongole. Named after Scott's grandfather, from the town of Sanza in southern Italy, it's a personal project built on both chefs' Italian-American roots. Backed by the Quality Branded restaurant group, it's quickly become one of the West Village's buzzier Italian tables.
