Opened in 2007 by legendary bartender Jim Meehan and his partners, Please Don't Tell (PDT) helped usher in New York City's modern speakeasy revival. Hidden behind a vintage telephone booth inside the East Village's Crif Dogs, the intimate cocktail bar is now owned by acclaimed bartender Jeff Bell and is celebrated for its inventive drinks and playful approach to nightlife. Its signature Benton’s Old Fashioned, created by bartender Don Lee, combines bacon-infused bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters, while gourmet hot dogs from Crif Dogs provide the perfect late-night accompaniment. In 2012, PDT became the first-ever recipient of the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program, cementing its place in the city's cocktail history.
