Forsythia

$89.99

Forsythia opened on Stanton Street on the Lower East Side in late October 2020. It started as a pandemic pop-up in the East Village while its permanent space was being built. Chef-owner Jacob Siwak, whose half-Italian mother got him into cooking, learned his craft in Rome at Santo Palato and on the pasta station at La Vecchia Scuola Bolognese in Bologna. He named the restaurant after his favorite flower, the forsythia, which is among the first to bloom each spring and marks the end of a dark season. Nearly every pasta is made by hand each day, and three dishes never leave the menu: the cacio e pepe supplì, the short rib agnolotti and the carbonara.
